Barcelona, 20 February 2025. Hispano Suiza inaugurates the ‘Hispano Suiza Design & Innovation Centre’, its own space within Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Montmeló, Barcelona). This will be the new permanent base for Hispano Suiza’s track operations and an incomparable meeting point for customers, partners and collaborators of the company, where luxury and maximum performance come together to guarantee a unique experience.

The Hispano Suiza Design & Innovation Centre is the first box permanently occupied by a manufacturer at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This initiative has been launched with the aim of involving customers in the process of creating their vehicle, offering them maximum comfort on a high-performance circuit. The space, created by merging two boxes, has been divided into two areas: an operational area, where mechanics and engineers will work on the hypercar, and another where guests can immerse themselves in the Hispano Suiza universe.

The car will be located on the left-hand side of the box, surrounded by elegant panels with screens on which the company’s motto ‘The pleasure of belonging to the unique’, can be read. Here, the company’s technicians will prepare the Hispano Suiza to begin track activity and complete the validation work, the final phase of the vehicle creation process before it is delivered to the customer.

On the other side of the garage, guests will find a space where they can understand the manufacturing process of a hypercar alongside the company’s technicians, relax or learn about the history of the manufacturer through a photographic exhibition, without losing sight of the other side of the box, where the vehicle is located.

Circuit testing, the natural habitat for the Carmen, Carmen Boulogne and Carmen Sagrera hypercars, is an essential part of their creation process, as it is here that they can safely squeeze out their more than 1,000 hp of power and push their new mechanical components to the limit. This process is carried out by Luis Pérez-Sala, a former Formula 1 driver, whose feedback as a test driver and Brand Ambassador for Hispano Suiza has contributed to transferring motor racing sensations to a street-legal vehicle.

Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza, said: ‘The opening of this permanent box at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a milestone in our recent history and reaffirms our philosophy “From Race to Road”, which consists of transferring racing technology to our hypercars. We want our customers to feel part of the development process of their vehicle and the best way to do this is with our own space inside the circuit. In this way, we continue to place our brand at the forefront of technology, sportiness and, above all, luxury’.

Juan Fernández, Technical Director of Hispano Suiza, adds: ‘Circuit testing is key to the correct development and validation of components for Hispano Suiza hypercars. For this reason, we have been continuously coming to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya over the last few years. We are now turning this box into a permanent home for our on-track activities, which will help us maximise our possibilities during the vehicle validation process. We will also give something unique to our customers, which is the possibility to witness the creation of their hypercar’.

Ignasi Armengol, General Manager of Fira Circuit, commented: ‘We are proud that Hispano Suiza has chosen our facilities as a permanent venue for its track tests and to provide its customers with an unparalleled experience. Hispano Suiza was born in Barcelona in 1904 and only a few years later it was already competing and achieving victories to build its legend. If we highlight values such as competitiveness, innovation or history, we see that Hispano Suiza and the Circuit have a lot in common, so I can’t think of a better partnership than this, a solid alliance with a vocation for expansion on our part’.

The new Hispano Suiza Design & Innovation Centre is just a few minutes away from the Hispano Suiza Atelier, the place where the brand’s customers configure their dream car with the help of the design team. Just a few months later, they will see their hypercar come to life on the track.
